Professional Musician

Matthew Stensrud is a trained pianist, organist, and handbell player.

Matthew frequently substitutes at churches in the Washington DC Metro area as pianist, organist, and music director. He has experience with various church services and styles, as well as adult and children’s choirs and adult and children’s handbell groups.

From 2006-2009, Matthew served as Pianist and Organist at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Fairfield, Ohio. Beginning in 2009 and until 2010, Matthew served as Music Director at Trinity, leading adult choral rehearsals, choosing choral repertoire, working with church leadership on themes and material, while continuing to play the piano and organ for weekly services.

Currently, Matthew substitutes at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Arlington, Virginia¬†(yes, the name is the same but the church is different!) as organist, music director, pianist, adult and children’s choir director and adult and children’s handbell director as needed.

From 2010-2011, Matthew played handbells in Virginia Bronze, a professional secular handbell ensemble in Northern Virginia. Matthew has experience playing handbells as a youth, and this passion grew to playing advanced handbell techniques as part of this ensemble.
